Talend, the leader in open source data management, has acquired Sopera, a German SOA and middleware platform vendor, known in its home country for its prestigious clients the likes of Deutsche Post, Zurich Insurance and Landesbank Berlin. The merger of the Talend Data Management and Sopera ASF solutions resulted in the creation of a high level integrated middleware tool that combines the flexibility of use of a corporate services management framework with the power of data manipulation tools.
This has made Talend ESB a first class tool that allows for work on both Data Quality and Service Quality. The key features that set this solution apart are a very well equipped mediation platform, service distribution capacity, high level centralised technical monitoring and integration of the Talend suite. It is a very solid product that merits exploration.

“ Talend ESB est un ESB orienté flux. Bien qu'il fasse mention de SOA, le coeur de l'ESB ne permet pas de lui-même de changer l’implémentation ou la localisation d'un fournisseur de service. Il faut avoir prévu au niveau du consommateur de service cette possibilité. D'autre part l'édition communautaire est très pauvre du coté des fonctions administration, exploitation et monitoring. Il faut alors se rabattre sur les éditions à souscription ”

“ Notoriété : 4/5 pour sa représentation de plus en plus large et ses cas d'utilisations de plus en plus variés. Périmètre fonctionnel : 3/5 car il manque un API manager, mais je remonte la note à 4/5 grâce aux autres modules de la suite : ETL, DQ, Big Data etc. Ressources : 5/5 Socle technique: Basé sur la suite Apache Service Mix : ActiveMQ, Apache Karaf, Apache Camel etc. ce qui en fait un ESB très facile à prendre en main Dynamique : 5/5 car forte communauté Extensible : 4/5 ”
