Bribe.io: a new open source platform to bribe developers to fix open source software bugs

The start up has announced that Bribe.io, a new platform to bribe developers to fix open source software bugs, will soon be released. The company seeks to collect and review the needs and opinions of future users via an online form.

Open source bounty is becoming more organised. In addition to existing platforms such as Bountysource, a new site dedicated to offering rewards for open source developers should be out soon.

On its homepage, Bribe.io explains that few developers are committed to maintaining the appearance of open source software. Thus, a momentary incentive may encourage them to consider resolving bugs or enhancing features. The site also states that it will be possible to contribute to other bribes proposed by other users on the platform in order to create more attractive rewards.

A questionaire was proposed to users and deveopers of the open source community in order for the platform to be adapted to meet their expectations. Users are asked how much they would be willing to pay for the resolution of a bug, and developers how they would like to be remunerated to solve the bug. Suggestions and concerns of potential future users of the service are also collected. It is possible to enter your e-mail address to be informed about the launch of Bribe.io.
