eZ Publish was created in 1999 by eZ Systems. eZ Publish stands out from other open source CMSs for its possibilities in terms of configurations and extensions: it is presented as a ready to use tool, but also as a development framework for the creation of lightweight business applications.
In terms of the fundamentals of content management, eZ Publish is one of the most powerful open source tools available today, with its structured content, workflows, categorisation, version management, etc. But the main strength of eZ Publish over other solutions is its highly CXM (Customer Experience Management) oriented positioning. Since version 4.5, eZ Publish has included a large number of functionalities in its Enterprise edition that foster web surfer loyalty for retail, marketing or, quite simply, editorial purposes: real time site analysis (eZ Live Viewer), complex mapping of user routes and management of hot/cold zones (eZ Odoscope), a recommendations engine (eZ Recommendation Service), and CRM and marketing campaign management integration (eZ Marketing Automation).
Technically, eZ Publish is written in PHP and runs on Apache and MySQL (PostgreSQL 8 and Oracle 11g are supported). A progressive rewrite of the whole codebase is in progress in the new 5.x branch which is now based on the Symfony 2 framework. Version 6.x, planned in 2015, will mark the final transition to Symfony 2.
“ c'est trop null déjà pour l'obtenir impossible de trouver un lien de téléchargement. sur leur site j'ai téléchargé un fichier bizarre après décompression il fait 260Mb. Pourquoi on fais pas les choses simple si on peux tout compliquer. Et voilà la réponse pourquoi les gens préféré drupal ou joomla par exemple. Ils font pas chier une demi journée pour trouver le lien CLAIRE de téléchargement. ”
22 persons have the same opinion“ Solution très complète, disposant par défaut de nombreuses fonctionnalités. eZP reste plus difficile à appréhender que d'autres solutions et peut requiert des compétences techniques pour le faire évoluer (un nouveau site ou module nécessite de coder) La version 5.X actuelle n'intègre que partiellement Symfony2 et n'est pas exempt de bugs que l'éditeur corrige au fur et à mesure des versions. Nous sommes persuadé qu'une fois stabilisé, eZ Publish innovera et saura à nouveau nous surprendre. ”
